At least Grab won’t be monopolizing this industry… When this one is successful and as good.
JoyRide is the newest player in the car-hailing industry. It will compete with Grab in this industry. The company had already acquired papers and accomodation from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
“We are grateful that JoyRide Car is now one of the accredited four-wheel Transport Network Companies in the Philippines. We view this as a good development as commuters will now have another viable choice for safe, comfortable, and affordable car rides to their destination,” said JoyRide senior vice president for corporate affairs Noli Eala.
Joyride’s certification came into effect once Metro Manila eased into Alert Level 1 of quarantine protocols. Prior to the car ride-hailing, Joyride offered tricycle and motorcycle rides, as well as deliveries.
To our surprise, there’s actually more than just Grab for the ride-hailing. They pretty much monopolized the entire industry. There are actually two more competitors aside from Joyride: Owto and Hirna. Angkas is not included because they offer two wheels instead of four.
If you want to try Grab’s alternative, you can download Joyride on both iOS and Android.
