Google Chrome will soon stop supporting Windows 8.1 and 7

Older versions still work however

Google recently announced that Chrome will no longer support Windows 7 and 8.1 starting 2023, the final build will be version 109. Starting at Build 110, Chrome will cease functioning on the aforementioned platforms. This version requires Windows 10 and newer.

This was perfectly timed as Microsoft is also ending its support for Windows 8.1 in 2023. You could still use older versions of Chrome but they will stop receiving updates. On the bright side, you still have a reliable browser to use. As Microsoft has ended support for Windows 7 and 8, and would soon cease supporting 8.1, other browsers and programs will follow suit.

If you’re using Windows 11, Microsoft is planning Android app support so programs here can potentially last longer.
