The Poco F4 has arrived in the Philippines! It features a Snapdragon 870 chipset and 64mp triple camera with OIS

The cameras improved this time? Now that’s interesting

Two of the most-awaited POCO phones have been released. These are the POCO F4 5G and the POCO X4 GT. Both of which are actually rebranded Redmi phones (Redmi K40S and Redmi Note 11T Pro 5G respectively). For this article, we’ll discuss the former. The POCO X4 GT is for another.

The POCO F4 5G is just as good as the previous year’s POCO F3, maybe even better thanks to the addition of a 64MP camera with OIS. Among other things, it has a 6.67″ FHD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. It is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and about 1300nits peak brightness; all of which are typical to Samsung E4 AMOLED screens. The entire thing about the so-called “flagship killers” is that they are midrange phones but offer flagship-like qualities at a more affordable pricing. The POCO F4 5G is no exception.

It is equipped with the same Snapdragon 870 chipset used on the POCO F3 although its performance nowadays is still up for debate, but you can bet that it’s still as competitive as newly released midrange chipsets. It has two configurations: 6/128 and 8/256. The decision to use this now-midrange chipset is intentional, as the performance version of the F4 is reserved for the F4 GT, which comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, although POCO may have no plans to bring that here

The cameras are an upgrade over the POCO F3 as it now features OIS. The primary camera is 64mp which is also complemented with the usual 8mp ultrawide and 2mp macro camera. The front camera is 20MP, the same one as the F3.

In terms of battery life, it has a 4500mAh battery and 67W fast charging. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner to boot as well as an IR Blaster to control appliances. It is charged via USB-C. It does not have a headphone jack but every POCO F4 5G is supplied with a dongle so that somewhat negates it. And speaking of audio, this phone has stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio certification.

Among other things, the phone has NFC, an X-Axis vibration motor, and a dedicated cooling system. It has no expandable storage and you’re stuck with either 128 or 256GB. Choose what you need most!

The phone is priced starting at Php 20,990 for the 6/128 variant while the more powerful 8/256 one starts at Php 22,990 and is available in POCO’s Lazada store. It comes in Moonlight Silver, Night Black, and Nebula Green colour options.
