As a response to its main rival blocking child pornography links as its form of humanitarian aid, PLDT blocks over 1 billion attempts of child abuse links and over 224K actual child abuse links. These figures show the company’s confidence and commitment to protecting minors from child abuse, according to PLDT Chief Information Security Advisor, Angel Redoble.

Smart and PLDT together have invested Php 2 billion in order to reinforce its cybersecurity operations as well as launch a Child Protection Services platform. This platform allows for the prevention, detection, and response of alleged child abuse and other crime related to minors.
