The Realme 8s and 8i have been confirmed to launch this 9th September along with the Realme Pad!

The Realme 8s is the first to have the Dimensity 810 5G processor and the Realme 8i would be the first to use a Helio G96 processor.

The Realme 8s and 8i are technically two versions of the same phone, particularly the Realme 8 5G and the Realme 8 respectively. Realme has confirmed that it will launch alongside the Realme Pad this 9th September.

Realme 8s

The main selling point of the Realme 8s is its Dimensity 810 processor, which is the first among all smartphones. In addition, it will have the Dynamic RAM feature that adds RAM to your phone virtually using your storage. This has been recently added as an update to the Realme 8 series.

The Dimensity 810 is a 5G octa-core chipset from Mediatek. It is composed of two CPU cores: ARM Cortex-A76 performance core and an ARM Cortex A-55 efficiency core. They are overclockable to 2.4GHz. These two CPU cores are paired with ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

Realme has not announced any other features or specs yet. We expect more tomorrow. Right now, we can rely on the rumour mill for speculation. The phone would come with a 6.5in. 90Hz screen (possibly IPS LCD), either 6GB or 8GB RAM, either 128 or 256GB storage, 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, a quad camera setup involving a 64mp main shooter, a 16mp front facing camera, side-mounted fingerprint reader and RealmeUI with Android 11.

Realme 8i

Touted as “India’s first Helio G96”, the Realme 8i is essentially a sidegrade to the Realme 8. According to the rumor mill, the phone should have a near-identical spec sheet with the Realme 8.

The Helio G96 is nearly identical to the Helio G95 but with slightly increased clock speed. It uses two Cortex A-76 CPU cores and six Cortex A-55 CPU cores that can be clocked to 2.05GHz. This is paired with the same GPU has the Dimensity 810, the ARM Mali G-57 MC2 GPU.

In the rumor mill, the phone is rumoured to be equipped with the usual specs: 5000mAh battery, a 6.5in 120Hz IPS LCD panel along with a triple camera setup composing of a 50mp main sensor and the useless and gimmicky 2mp macro and depth. For selfies, it should come with a standard 16mp shooter. There is also a rumoured side-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles as a power button.
