The Leitz Phone 1 is a Leica-branded Japan-only smartphone with Leica’s large and innovative 1″ sensor built-in. Previously, we’ve seen this large smartphone sensor on the Sharp Aquos R6. The Leica Leitz Phone 1 will exclusively be distributed by Softbank, like the Aquos R6.
The phone uses a 6.6in. IGZO OLED panel with a 2K resolution: 2730x1260px. The phone also comes with an adaptive 240Hz refresh rate, one of the highest we’ve seen on ANY phone. The phone is powered by a flagship Snapdragon 888 5G processor and comes with 12/256 ram/storage and as an added bonus, is also SD-card expandable, which is rare for a flagship. Its main highlight is the 1in. 20mp f/1.9 sensor as its main camera with a focal length of 19mm, allowing for brighter images and a better quality in contrast to its competitors. The phone of course comes without a cheap price. The phone is exclusively available in Japan and would cost you JPY 187,920 (~82.2K php). Quite an expensive phone, but also quite innovative. Essentially, the phone is a rebadged Aquos R6. You can read about the Aquos R6 here
