The Honor 400 LOCKS IN at PHP 22,999. What a Steal!

However, if you have the good ol’ Honor 200, keep that instead.

After a week of sneak peek, Honor revealed its newest lineup in the number series, the Honor 400. Let’s cut to the chase and summarize what it is. It is a sidegrade of the Honor 200 and is designed to introduce Honor’s newest AI “features” in a slim, luxurious package. It also cuts down on the camera and Harcourt is sidelined this time around.

That means if you have an Honor 200, it’s best to keep it around. However, if you intend to buy new, we suggest going for the Honor 400 as it is a lot cheaper. However, you do lose the telephoto camera that can zoom in 50x. That is a downgrade if we ever saw one. That also means the primary camera will do the heavy lifting for those beautiful portraits. On the other hand, the main camera is now 200MP so that means the primary camera can actually do heavier lifting, and probably why Honor decided to ditch the telephoto camera.

If you like twiddling with AI features, or so they are called, the Honor 400 is good for you. It comes with a few things. “AI Cutout” which is basically the AI Eraser with extra steps. Now, you can isolate the subject from the background and move them to other pictures. Another is “AI Outpainting” which allows you to expand the background and expand your domain. Finally, the piece-de-resistance, “AI Image to Video”, which allows you to turn photos into videos… uncannily. It’s like those brainrot videos but now made easier, skill-free.

As you can tell, almost all Honor’s AI features for the Honor 400 are intended for photography and videography, just like how the rest of the series is intended for the serious phone photographer. Now that we covered its main marketing gimmick, let’s get to the specs.

The phone is a lot simpler, design-wise. It only features two cameras at the back while retaining the 50MP selfie camera. Another one of its main features is the slightly bigger 6000mAh battery versus the Honor 200. It charges through an 80W brick and cable that comes with every purchase.

The phone still uses the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset as the previous phone, despite it using the newer Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in China. We’re not sure why the global variant decided to go for the older chipset when they can easily use the newer one. We can only speculate that the two are only marginally different and performance is not heavily affected whatsoever. The Honor 400 is not designed for heavy game duty, after all.

Ah yes, the curved display. See, when you hold this phone, it feels like you’re holding the iPhone 16 the way the phone curves in and how light it feels. It may even be lighter than the Honor 200 we also had. This display is OLED, measuring 6.55 inches, making it slightly shorter than the Honor 200. Sure, it’s only a small fraction but it is noticeable. It has 120Hz refresh rate and 3840Hz PWM Dimming.

As we mentioned earlier, there are now only two cameras at the back instead of three, omitting the telephoto camera in place of a newer, stronger primary camera. The back is composed of a 200MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide. Only the 200MP camera has OIS while the ultrawide is the same as the Honor 200. OIS allows you to do those jogging vlogs without making it look there is an earthquake within your location every minute.

Among other features, the phone is loaded with Android 15 with six years of upgrades. MagicOS 9.0 is layered on top of this operating system. It also has an IP66 dust/water resistance, allowing you to use the phone worry-free during your bath time sessions or in a dusty area. As always, the in-display fingerprint scanner is here alongside the IR Blaster that turns your phone into an all-in-one remote control… if the phone’s built-in remote app actually supports the appliance brand.
