Honor Philippines Announces the Honor 400 with Extra AI Improvements

It will launch on June 17!

Honor has officially brought the 400 series globally with three in the series. These include the lower-end Honor 400 Lite, the middle child Honor 400, and of course, the star-studded Honor 400 Pro. Currently, only one of these was announced to be brought to the Philippines with neither the Pro nor the Lite making an appearance.

Honor has a pattern on which phones to stay in China and which to release globally. The phones in the even number series gets to see a global launch while the odd ones are out and stay in China. This is most likely to ensure that the Honor Number series you own stays fresh and updated.

As with its former parent Huawei, Honor designs phones quite uniquely. The camera island is a lot more triangular here akin to the Huawei Pura70 series. The phone itself is made of plastic with a metallic-like finish and comes in three colours: Gold, Silver, and Blue with a unique wavy pattern.

As with the Honor 200, Harcourt portrait features remain but is no longer the main selling point. Instead, its newly announced AI features, such as AI cutout, AI OutPaint, and AI Image-to-Video, are the main highlights. As a tech company, the term “AI” is going to be thrown around, and Honor uses it like there’s no tomorrow.

The Honor 400 features two cameras, omitting the useless 2MP cameras that for some reason, other phones at its range still have. The main one is a 200MP sensor and the other is a 12MP Ultrawide. Oddly enough, the telephoto camera got removed which even the base Honor 200 has. It’s most likely a cost-cutting measure.

The front features a 50MP camera for selfies and also integrates with the phone’s AI capabilities.

The phone itself is modest and has a curvy edge. When holding it, it feels similar to the iPhone 16 and just by looking at the front, you’ll notice this is one of the brand’s main “inspirations”. It has a 6.55″ 1.5K (2736x1264px) AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 3840Hz PWM Dimming. The device itself has IP66 water and dust protection and is also SGS certified in drop resistance.

As the pioneer in Silicon-Carbon batteries, the Honor 400 is equipped with it. A 6000mAh battery powers the phone and is charged over an 80W charging brick. No, it still does not have wireless charging.

The chipset we put last because it is nothing to be wowed about. It uses the same chip as last time, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The phone has 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. Even Honor put this chip way below the Honor 400’s landing page, securing its place as a photography handset.

The Honor 400 features an IR Blaster, a recurring feature that was seen since the Honor 70, followed by stereo speakers, NFC, and 5G connectivity.

There is no price announced for this phone yet. However, we can speculate based on the Honor 200’s pricing. It will most likely launch at a price between PHP 24,999 and PHP 29,999 but again, this is just speculation. The phone will be released nationwide on June 17 wherein we would definitely know the price for sure.
