Honor X9b Spotted in the Malaysia Website! Features Toughened Glass

Same iconic look, new colours, and improved cameras. The screen might be as durable too!

The Honor X9a is one of Honor’s most successful launches since their departure from Huawei. It is also proven that Filipino users love the phone. It is known for its tough curved OLED screen and a unique design featuring a circular camera island.

Due to the tremendous success it had, Honor is preparing to launch a sequel! This means the “a” in the name is actually part of a series of smartphones. Introducing, the HONOR X9b!

It was spotted first in the Honor Malaysia website, with a few teasers, including a puzzle. If you participate, you can have the chance to take home an Honor Pad X8.

Just like the X9a, the main feature of the X9b is its tough OLED glass. Whenever Honor launches a new store here in the Philippines, it always constantly boasts about the X9a’s tough screen. Content creators have smashed it to several objects such as walls, a watermelon, sea shells, and apples! No dents and marks were present on the screen. Though it’s a toughened glass, Honor did not specify the type of tempered glass it uses. It’s possibly a variant of Kunlun Glass that Huawei uses, or an unspecified version of Corning Gorilla Glass.

In Honor’s Twitter account, it partially shows what the phone looks like. It will retain the same centered punch-hole selfie camera. Its design is also pretty similar to the X9a. Though the “black” part of the camera island is thicker. No other specifications were mentioned yet. It also appears that the X9b is slightly thicker than the X9a

There are no details yet about the phone but it’s expected to arrive before the end of the month. It is also unknown whether the phone would go under a different name, as the Honor X9a was sold as the “Honor Magic5 Lite” in some countries.
