Oppo Brings the A38 to the Philippines!

Another A-series!

Oppo’s A-series handsets are undoubtedly one of the company’s best-selling series. They cater mostly to budget-conscious users who want a shiny new phone with a premium-looking design. Their next phone in the series, the Oppo A38, is now available in the Philippines. According to Oppo, the design is “sleek and trendy and not only feels great in the hand but also makes a stylish statement”.

The A-series handsets often have similar specifications, especially in regards to the chipset and cameras. Moreover, they tend to be priced slightly higher than their contemporaries. These are offset by Oppo’s widespread service centers and stores, as they are easy to get by.

Like the rest of the Oppo A-series phones, the A38 comes with 300% ultra volume mode which makes up partially for the absence of a stereo speaker system. The phone uses a 90Hz IPS LCD with HD+ resolution. Like the Oppo A58, the display is also dubbed “Sunlight Display” and we know how that goes. Just read on our review!

It comes with a 50MP Primary camera and a 2MP auxiliary. The selfie camera sits comfortably on the waterdrop notch and has a resolution of 8MP.

In terms of performance, the Oppo A38 uses a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Both are expandable, through a MicroSD Card Slot and virtually, up to another 4GB. These days, 128GB is now a minimum requirement as apps advance and constantly update.

It also has a 5000mAh battery with 33W Fast Charging. It uses a USB-C 2.0 port, the same one found on the Google Pixel 8 Pro and iPhone 15 series.

Finally, it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, IPX4 rating, and Dual-band Wi-Fi. It is now available in the Philippines, via Lazada and Shopee, and TikTok, as well as physical stores nationwide. Prices start at PHP 7,999. Colours include Glowing Gold and Glowing Black
