Tecno’s new MegaBook is a POWERHOUSE! Not Just That, It’s Affordable Too!

It’s a productivity laptop that won’t break the bank!

Tecno has unveiled its new iteration of its laptop called the MegaBook T1. It is in its second generation and the laptop is more powerful compared to its predecessor. It’s also very affordable!

The MegaBook T1 2023 was revealed alongside the company’s budget flip phone, the Tecno Phantom V Flip. We’ll discuss more of that in a future article since this will focus primarily on the laptop.

The MegaBook T1 uses an aluminum chassis instead of the usual plastic. It uses a 16:10 FullHD+ (1920x1200px) IPS LCD screen with 350nits brightness and 100% colour gamut so when you use Adobe Illustrator for example, you will get accurate colour reproduction.

It uses an Intel Core i7-13700H chipset with integrated Iris Xe graphics. That’s right! It’s an H-type chipset so it really is intended for great performance with little to no compromise. This is also proven with the 16GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB M.2 SSD storage.

The 2MP AI webcam also comes with a shutter for added privacy. In terms of ports, the laptop has two USB-C port, one for data and the other for charging, two USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI 1.4, a card reader, and a 3.5mm jack. It’s plentiful for a small laptop.

The manufacturer is also highlighting the laptop’s 75WHr battery which can last up to 18.5 hours, probably not on regular use. The laptop is charged through its Power Delivery port and comes with a 65W GaN charger.

For audio, the laptop comes with DTS Audio enhancement. It also comes with a backlit keyboard, and dual microphones with Electronic Noise Cancellation (ENC). Try finding that on more expensive laptops.

It comes in Shiny Black and Monet Violet. There’s no price yet in the Philippines and we’re not sure if Tecno has plans to bring the laptop in the Philippines. For seamless transferring from your Tecno phone, the company developed the OneLeap application which allows you to access your mobile devices, including tablets, and then seamlessly transfer files. The power button also serves as a fingerprint sensor.

In the US, the laptop is priced at USD 399 (~PHP) or about 22.6K which makes the laptop very busted but also users are warry because this is the first time they heard of such a brand.
