They have been naughty boys over there, or so the Indian government thinks.

BBK Electronics, parent company of Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, and Realme, has been in hot waters in India after the government accused them of evading customs duty. The move seems political in nature as the Indian government has been tightening control of several Chinese companies after the country clashed with China within the regions of Tibet and Sikkim. This includes banning hundreds of Chinese apps including Mobile Legends and PUBG where they have significantly large markets.

The separation currently only affects the Indian branches of these companies. Interestingly, Vivo is not counted in the accusation because the company is technically split from BBK. Vivo and iQoo are handled by Vivo Mobile India. The global and Chinese branches are still owned and managed by BBK Electronics.
