Sharp and full screens! RedMagic 8 Pro Global Edition now available through XunddPH

ZTE may not be official yet, but its Nubia RedMagic series are, for a longer period of time, through Xundd.

Xundd has long been a reliable dealer for ZTE’s Nubia RedMagic gaming phones. With that being said, here’s the global edition of the RedMagic 8 Pro now available through its official distributor.

EDIT: Xundd notified us they do not service smartphones. They do have, however, a partner service center which they did not disclose.

It was announced through Xundd’s Facebook page. There, they showed a quick summary of the phone. The main features here are its boxy design and a notchless 93.7% ratio OLED screen. This was made possible by implementing an in-display camera which ZTE has developed first through the Axon 30 Ultra (it was one of our first articles in our blog too). Since then, the company continued to develop this concept while others shied away, preferring to use a dot notch.

As a gaming phone, it features a 6.8″ FullHD+ (2480x1116px) 120Hz OLED screen with 960Hz refresh rate. Combined, these make for a satisfyingly smooth experience and very fast response. Ideal for those who are gaming very competitively. It also features two 520Hz dual shoulder triggers. Of course, by default, it would use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset featuring a fast 256 or 512GB UFS 4.1 storage and 12 or 16GB LPDDR5 RAM.

The phone also features RGB lighting at the back, an advanced cooling system with an included fan, and a triple camera setup comprising of a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro. If you think these cameras fit more for a midrange phone than it is a flagship, then you’re right. Cameras are not the highest priority here. The phone’s in-display front camera has 16MP resolution.

As for the battery, you’re taking a look at a dual-cell 6000mAh battery split into two. This comes with 65W fast charging and charges via USB-C. There’s also an accessory connector if you wish to connect it to more Nubia accessories.

The company has also baked its Red Core 2 gaming chip for smoother and faster effects, improved shoulder keys, vibrations, and sound effects. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Snapdragon Sound technology makes up its high-quality stereo speakers. Moreover, the phone thankfully has a 3.5mm jack, triple microphones for a more effective noise cancellation and clearer voice, and Dual Smart PA

It comes pre-built with RedMagic OS 6.0 based on Android 13. There are two versions. One with an aluminium back called “Matte Black” and the other is transparent, appropriately called “Void Black” As seen through the picture above, price starts at Php 39,999 for the 12/256 version which is stunningly affordable. More so than some regular flagships like the Galaxy S23 series out there. However, take note you do have to have sacrifices such as the cameras being inferior and its lack of availability outside of Xundd may mean that customer service and repairs are a challenge.
