They are really going aggressive on this
A few weeks ago, Honor announced its glorious comeback to the Philippine market, after it disappeared thanks to the company being part of Huawei. They now operate independently although due to the massive influence Huawei had on them, they are free to use the company’s designs and they are also free from the prohibitions the US sanctioned on Huawei.
On the company’s Facebook page, they have announced that the Honor 70 is coming to the Philippines as the company revealed its summary sheet. The Honor 70 is a midrange phone with a design directly taken from the flagship Huawei P50.
The phone features a 6.7in. FHD+ (2400x1080px) OLED with 120Hz refresh rate and 1.07 billion colours. It uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset and the phone also features Google Services and 5G, unlike Huawei’s phones. The chipset is a boosted version of the regular 778G. The phone comes with 8GB RAM and either 128 or 256GB internal storage.
The main feature of the phone is its camera system. While not as powerful as the Huawei P50, these are still flagship-like. The main camera is a 54MP Sony IMX800 sensor. Although this camera has a caveat, it lacks OIS, unlike the IMX766 which many other phones have implemented. This 50MP camera is supplemented with a 50MP high-res ultrawide camera and the useless 2MP depth camera. The front camera sits in the middle of the punch-hole and has a 32MP resolution.
There is a 4800mAh Li-Po battery inside that charges fast with its 66W charge rate. It features a dual-sim SLOT, 5G services, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. It runs MagicUI 6.1 (now called MagicOS) based on Android 12. Inside the display is the fingerprint sensor. It lacks a headphone jack.
We’ll let you know of its price but Honor is certainly not the type of company to price their phones as aggressively as Realme, Infinix, or Xiaomi. It puts itself in the same position as Vivo, OnePlus, or Samsung.
