The phone was released just before the Nothing Phone (1) which offers similar specs. We don’t think this is a coincidence.
Xiaomi officially launches the 12 Lite right after Azerbaijan did. It is a stylish midranger following the footsteps of the Mi 11 Lite NE.
It has a 6.55in. FHD+ (2400x1080px) AMOLED screen. It has a colour depth of up to 10-bit 68 billion colours. In addition to that, it has an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, and contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1.
There are three cameras at the back, the primary one being a 108MP Samsung HM2 camera. This is complemented by an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro camera. It has a 32MP selfie camera lying in the middle of the phone’s screen. This front camera is loaded with software enhancements including Xiaomi’s Selfie Glow.
It is equipped with the standard Snapdragon 778G chipset. In contrast, the Nothing Phone (1) uses the upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus which offers faster clock speeds. In terms of battery power, it has a 4300mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The 67W fast charger is included inside.
The chipset is complemented by 6 or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and either 128 or 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage. It has no expandable slot in its spec sheet.
There is an in-display fingerprint scanner, 5G services, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. It also has a 3.5mm jack and USB-C port. It boots with MIUI 13 based on Android 12. In many respects, the phone is a sidegrade complement to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite NE while also having a more modern design.
It comes in Lite Pink, Lite Green, and Black. Availability in the Philippines is yet to be announced. The phone is said to be slightly more affordable than the lightstick that is the Nothing Phone (1) although that phone offers better specs, including the famous 50MP Sony IMX766 camera with OIS.
