The Vivo iQoo Neo6 SE has hit the Indian mobile phone scene with a Snapdragon 870 chipset

It is a side-grade of the base Neo6

The basic Vivo iQoo Neo6 was launched last month in India and came with the current Qualcomm flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Vivo has announced today that a new member of the Neo6 family will join India, the Neo6 SE. It is identical in its hardware in all respects, with the exception of its Snapdragon 870 chipset.

If that’s the case, then the iQoo Neo6 SE also comes with a 6.62in. FHD+ (2400x1080px) AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 1300nits of peak brightness. It has a triple camera setup comprising of a 64mp main camera with OIS, a 12mp ultrawide camera, and a useless 2mp depth camera. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 16mp.

It lacks a headphone jack but makes up for it by including an in-display fingerprint scanner. The chipset is paired with 8 or 12GB RAM and either 128 or 256GB internal storage. It does not have a MicroSD slot to further expand its storage capabilities.

It has a 4700mAh battery with 80W fast charging which Vivo claims to charge a phone from empty to full in less than an hour. The use of an older chipset is beneficial to people who are quite budget-conscious but also want a high-performance phone that isn’t in the lower midrange sector.

It comes in Sky Blue and Black colours. Its price starts at CNY 1,999 (~Php 15.7K) for the 8/128 configuration, if you want double the storage, the 8/256 configuration would cost you CNY 2,299 (~Php 18.1K) while the top-of-the-line 12/256 configuration would cost you CNY 2,499 (~Php 19.4K). This phone is obviously much more affordable than the base variant because of its older chipset.
