Moto Edge 20 Pro, Motorola’s current flagship.

Motorola has set out to be the first to launch the world’s first SD8G1 phone. A week ago, Lenovo Mobile’s General Manager Chen Jin posted on his Weibo account what users should expect about the upcoming flagship. In his post (translated by GizChina) the new flagship should “throw a big bomb on the industry”. This is either building hype, actually releasing the world’s first SD8G1 phone, or both.

Snapdragon 8 Gen1

In relation to this post, there were already teasers for their next upcoming flagship series called the Moto Edge X that are set to launch next month and sources tell us this will come with the SD8Gen1 processor, previously known as the Snapdragon 895.

Although not fully announced yet, the chipset will be based on a Samsung 4nm process instead of the previous TSMC process used on previous chipsets. This chipset will also use the Cortex X2 super core clocked at 3.0GHz. It uses the flagship GPU Adreno 730 to render graphics and should be able to handle intensive games like Genshin Impact.

As there are no official announcements yet about what the name of the phone could be, please take this with a pinch of salt, as it could be anything. Reports say that the name of this device is called “Motorola Moto Edge 30 Ultra” with codename “Rogue” and model name XT-2201.
