The Poco C31 is launched in India. It’s a rebranded Redmi 9C

Xiaomi is back again with rebranding and rereleasing the same phones every damn time.

The Poco C31 is the successor to the Poco C3 launched October last year. The new C31 slightly improves on that. By improve, we mean changing the design slightly, rebranding the Redmi 9C to POCO and rerelease them with colours that match the POCO styling and design language.

Poco C31 arrives with Helio G35 and 5,000 mAh battery

Like the Redmi 9C, the phone is powered by a Helio G35 chipset coupled with 3 or 4GB RAM and 32 or 64GB internal storage. It’s a budget phone in all respects. The phone comes in two colours: Royal Blue and Shadow Grey.

The phone uses the same camera system as the Redmi 9C: the 13mp main camera, a 2mp macro and a 2mp depth. It also has a 5mp selfie camera on a dew drop notch. And speaking of the notch, the phone has the same 6.53in. HD+ IPS LCD that the Redmi 9C comes with.

It has a rear fingerprint scanner and is charged through a MicroUSB port (big surprise, we know). It uses the same 5000mAh battery as its Xiaomi counterpart, with obviously no fast charging tech available.

The phone also boots with POCO UI with a slightly dated Android 10. What POCO brags about their UI in comparison to MIUI is that this has a “clean experience” meaning it has little to no ads built-in. In India, the phone is priced at INR 8,499 (~Php 5.8K) for the 3/32 variant but on its debut, the price would be further reduced to INR7999 (~Php 5.5K). The 4/64 variant is priced at INR9499 (~Php 6.5K) but during its debut, it would be reduced to just INR8999 (~Php 6.2K). It is available on Flipkart, as well as partner stores.

Oh, did we mention that this is a rebranded Redmi 9C? If you want this, then the Redmi 9C is available but take note that this phone has lower RAM/storage configuration than its POCO counterpart.
