The Realme Narzo 50 series has debuted in India!

Another series of budget phones from Realme

The Realme Narzo 50 series has been unveiled through a live event. Let’s not get too wordy on the intro and just get on with it. There are two phones in the series: the lower end Narzo 50i and the higher-end Narzo 50A.

The Narzo 50i features a 6.5in. HD+ IPS LCD screen and is the obviously the more budget version of the two. Inside the Narzo 50i is the SC9863A coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. For the cameras, there’s a single 8mp shooter at the back and a 5mp selfie camera on top of a dew drop notch. Because it is an ultrabudget phone, it will not have any fast charging features, but does come with a fairly large 5000mAh battery and MicroUSB.

The Narzo 50A is the more streamlined version, powered by the ol’ reliable Helio G85 processor. For the display, it is the same as the Narzo 50i, packing a 6.5in. HD+ IPS LCD screen. It comes with 4GB RAM and storage options between 64 and 128GB that can be further expanded via MicroSD card. For the cameras, the new Narzo 50A features Samsung’s ISOCELL JN1 sensor with 50mp resolution, coupled with other junk: two 2mp macro and depth sensors. For the front camera, you have a fairly typical 8mp shooter.

The phone has a large 6000mAh battery that charges over USB-C. Also, props to Realme for adding at least 18W fast charging for this phone. At this price point, it’s rare to come by. Also, thanks to its large battery, it has the ability to reverse charge other phones. The phone boots with RealmeUI 2.0 based on Android 11. It comes with an unfortunately badly designed fingerprint sensor at the back.

There were two other products announced during the event: The Realme Smart TV and the Realme Band 2. The Smart TV will be covered in another article.

Going back to the Narzo 50 series, the Narzo 50A with 4/64 configuration starts at INR 11,999 (~Php 8.3K) whole the 4/128 configuration starts at INR 12,499 (~Php 8.6K). We are expecting that either or both would be released in the Philippines soon, as the Narzo 30 series did.

For the Narzo 50i, there’s two configurations. The 2/32 variant starts at INR 7499 (~Php 5.2K) while the 4/64 variant starts at INR 8999 (~Php 6.2K).

The Narzo 50A comes in Oxygen Green and Oxygen Blue while the Narzo 50i comes with Mint Green and Carbon Black colours. Pre-orders start on 27 September for the Narzo 50A and 7 October for the Narzo 50i in Flipkart and partner markets.
