There are multiple reports saying that Microsoft is planning to purchase discord for more than $10 billion. According to Bloomberg, Xbox Chief Phil Spencer is in talks with Discord about the potential deal.

Venturebeat has reported that the chat group is looking for potential buyers and “exploring its options”. Multiple parties are interested in buying the company.

According to PCGamer, Discord may likely to go public rather than sell itself to another company. It is also reported that the company had discussions with Epic Games and Amazon in the past.

For those who don’t know, Discord is a multiple-party chat system, intended originally as a better version of Skype. It has gained attention from gamers because of its easy-to-use interface and multiple servers to join. It is also notable for having many features available for free users, such as customisable chatrooms, customisable emotes and unlimited number of channels per server.

Discord has around 140 million monthly users and made about $130 million in revenue last year.
