ZTE Axon 30 Pro, the second under-display camera flagship from ZTE

We are heading to a future where “in-display” cameras are the norm

The ZTE Axon 30 Pro features an “in-display” front camera.

Last year, ZTE launched the first ever commercially available under-display smartphone, the ZTE Axon 20 5G. It was big news and that phone was a game changer for all other manufacturers to inspire.

This year, ZTE is making another big-shot again, The ZTE Axon 30 Pro is a premium flagship device that continues the tradition of its predecessor: amazing specifications and it’s top differentiator, an under-display camera.

Other manufacturers also attempted experimenting with the concept. Xiaomi was reported into making their own line of invisible front cameras and launching it this year. Earlier in 2019, Oppo announced their own concept of an under-display camera phone.

However, what set the ZTE Axon 30 Pro and its predecessor apart is that, while Oppo and Xiaomi’s are just concept phones, ZTE mass-produced them for the public to try. Being a first-generation of experiments, it is expected that it would not perform well. However, with that being said, a first-gen phone should inspire the company to improve the product for the better.
