Hmmm that big square camera look. It feels deja vu but we’ve seen that design before hmmm

The POCO M8 Series, the series’ online-only siblings, were released just a few days prior. Now, the phones are much more accessible to the public thanks to Redmi finally releasing the Redmi Note 15 series, albeit with some questionable prices, especially the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus. However, we believe that phone and its slightly weaker brother, the Redmi Note 15 Pro, deserve their own article. This will only cover the Redmi Note 15 and its 5G version, because in the big 2026, 4G-only phones are sadly still a thing.
Familiar Looks, Familiar Faces

The Redmi Note 15 is a basic consumer’s smartphone. One you would see your younger cousin, or maybe friends, would use for their school works, casual play, and more. Its main features are the upgraded battery, up from the usual 5000mAh to 6000mAh, and the IP64 water and dust resistance. As with the previous Redmi Note, the phone retained its curved AMOLED screen. Inside it is the never-dying MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra. Ultra, because it’s supposed to be more powerful than the regular G100. For those in the know, the G100 is just another alias for the ever-popular Helio G99.
The design of the phone is roughly similar to the previous Redmi Note, featuring a large squarish camera hump, so for some users, they might experience a deja vu. However, this time around, the design is much more streamlined.
The Redmi Note 15 features a curved AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. It also features a singular 108MP camera joined by an unnecessary 2MP auxiliary, which does not have a real use. The selfie camera, housed on top of the display, has 20MP resolution. Don’t change what’s not broken.

The Redmi Note 15 5G is almost of the same ideal, and its specs should be familiar with owners of the POCO M8. Albeit that phone uses a 50MP camera instead of a more powerful 108MP. The difference between the Redmi Note 15 4G and its 5G variant lies in the chipset, where the Redmi Note 15 5G uses yesteryear’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, manufactured on a 4nm process. Also, the Redmi Note 15 5G has a proper secondary camera, an 8MP Ultrawide.
The Redmi Note 15 4G starts at PHP 9,999 for the 6/128 variant. Yes, we’re going downhill from here. Meanwhile the Redmi Note 15 5G starts at PHP 13,999 for the 8/256 variant. Every purchase of the 4G phone from its pre-order period today until January 29 will allow users to receive a FREE Redmi Buds 88 Lite. Meanwhile, people who purchase the Redmi Note 15 5G will receive FREE three months of Spotify Premium and 3 months of free 100GB cloud storage.
The phones are available via Lazada, TikTok Shop, and Shopee.
