What’s that? Not enough storage for your favorite PNG waifu? Don’t worry, POCO’s got you covered.

Typically, when a smartphone launches, the vanilla handset is released first followed by its incremental upgrade variants like the POCO F7 Pro. The tables have turned and POCO decided to launch the POCO F7 a little later than the Pro.

The phone is quite powerful at the helm, and it is priced very generously too. It sports a futuristic design and a not-so-exactly flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. According to POCO’s testing, the chipset has a score of around 2 million on AnTuTu and in a realistic situation or everyday use, the phone should be able to handle Wuthering Waves, Genshin Impact.
The POCO F7 features a display quite common for its type, a 6.83″ 1.5K (2772x1280px) AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Based on the model images, this display is flat which means less chances of accidental touches. Furthermore, POCO has finally caught up to other brands and now highlights the 3840Hz PWM Dimming that makes the screen less straining to the eyes.

The launch also highlights POCO’s very own virtual avatar named “Rydr”. Portrayed as a futuristic-looking cyborg that represents POCO’s philosophy of performance over everything else, a “performance-first” philosophy. In fact, the silver color of the POCO F7 is derived exactly from this virtual avatar. This further embodies what brand POCO is, a brand focused on the power users and gamers, while Xiaomi’s main division focuses on top notch cameras and luxurious experiences.

As a phone designed explicitly for performance, cameras are of a secondary priority. Still, you do get a decent shooter, a 50MP Sony IMX882 with OIS and a typical and weak 8MP ultrawide sensor. The front camera remains the same as ever, since the POCO F2 days, a 20MP shooter. The camera system probably won’t be changing to something mind-blowing anytime soon.

Batteries would continue to have more capacity as time passes but also, Silicon-Carbon made it possible to retain their actual physical size. This allows Xiaomi to use a 6500mAh battery cell in what is already a cramped space paired with 90W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging. Mind you, the phone still needs to have its large vapour chamber in there, and it’s not just any type, it’s actually Liquid Cooling.

As for connectivity, the phone comes with your typical array of connectivity options including 5G NSA, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, and an IR Blaster. Xiaomi also added an additional chip called the Surge T1S Tuner which allows the phone to catch stronger signals much easier and faster. This prevents unnecessary lag during intense gaming sections, or maybe if you’re installing on what appears to be a 20GB update for PUBG or maybe Call of Duty Mobile.
AVAILABILITY:

During the livestream, some of you may have been guessing already what the price is, or maybe a friend or colleague already told you about it. But for those of you who are not in the know, you probably could have guessed PHP 25K? 30K? 35K? or maybe even 40K? Well, if those are your guesses, then you are all wrong. It’s surprisingly VERY AFFORDABLE!
The POCO F7 comes in Silver, Black, and White. No signs of POCO Yellow which was a tradition for the brand. The POCO F7 costs only PHP 25,999 (12/512) on the highest end! And even then, it’s temporarily discounted on Shopee to just PHP 19,499! That’s quite a lot of savings. If you’re satisfied with just 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM, which, too many, is still sufficient storage, then you can get it for PHP 23,999, and if you pre-order, only at PHP 17,499. This is quite the steal if you ask us. It’s so generously priced, it makes its competitors feel overpriced when they really aren’t.
To reiterate, the POCO F7 is currently a Shopee exclusive. One of the main reasons why the brand can price it so low. No need for outdoor kiosks or promoters, or even ambassadors. Just plain ol’ online advertising and word of mouth.
The phone runs HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. Also, if you ever broke the screen out of rage. Don’t you worry, as part of Xiaomi’s warranty policies, the screen is replaceable free of charge for up to 6 months. However, do read the footnote. There is a catch to this. This warranty is only available to the POCO F7 purchased between June 24 to July 7. Bring your receipt to verify the purchase date.
