ICYMI: Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro Plus Launched with High-Specs LOW PRICE!

Alongside the Redmi Note 14 and its 5G variant, Xiaomi, of course, also launched two Pro phones. One that’s “not a flagship” and the other that’s “almost a flagship”.

The two phones also sport an entirely new design to further distinguish it from the base Redmi Note 14. Also, if you prefer getting the Pro on the cheap, then get the POCO version called the POCO X7.

REDMI NOTE 14 PRO 5G:

This is the Redmi Note 14 Pro, a 5G phone with a modernized sophisticated design. Its an all-rounder smartphone with an emphasis on its 200MP camera, AI, and durability. A perfect choice for those who couldn’t decide why they want a phone in the first place. Call it like the “tutorial level” of some sorts.

As seen on the model above, it sports a sleek curved AMOLED screen, specifically measuring 6.67″ with a blinding 3000nits peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1920Hz PWM Dimming. The screen is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Also, the phone is rated at IP68 for that maximum protection and durability.

The main star of the show is that 200MP camera with OIS. If you can remember, this is the same exact camera as the Redmi Note 13 Pro, so for those coming from the Redmi Note 13 Pro might consider skipping the 14th entry. There are two other cameras present, the supporting character: 8MP ultrawide, and the comic relief: the 2MP macro. Meanwhile, at the front is the unsung hero, the 20MP selfie camera.

The Redmi Notes are more known for their performance than their camera performance. Yes, since the first ever Redmi Note debuted. For the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G (a mouthful to say the least), the phone sports a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset, which is a great choice because, not only is the phone surprisingly affordable, but also quite long lasting, and will suit those who play tense games like Wuthering Waves, Genshin Impact, and Infinity Nikki. The phone comes with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and a choice between 256 or 512GB UFS 2.2 storage. Well, there we go, we found the catch to that performance.

The phone has a 5110mAh capacity with a somewhat slow charging rate, 45W. Slow for a Redmi Note that is. At this rate, we expect 65W or 80W, but 45W is still fast for anyone. We’re done with the fast charging meta, this time AI and durability are the metas. Though, the battery did get some upgrades, notably the SiC compound used to increase capacity while maintaining a thin and small profile.

Among other things, these include the IR Blaster, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, in-display optical fingerprint scanner, 5G connectivity, and USB-C port. Usual things that are staple of the series.

There are three colours, same as the Redmi Note 14 5G. These are Lavender Purple, Midnight Black, and Coral Green. The phone sports a metallic-like finish.

Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G:

AI, Durability, Cameras. The trifecta of the Redmi Note 14 series, all featured on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, the epitome of all four phones announced. The design remains relatively unchanged, with some subtle differences with its two-tone shift on the Lavender Purple colour. In a way, the two phones remind us of an enlarged Redmi Note 9, thanks to its squarish-looking camera island.

There are only a few notable differences from the Pro Plus to the Pro. These include the chipset and charging rate. Anything way better than the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G would mean flagship territory, which is where the boundaries are set. So, this is more like a short recap of everything we know.

In this case, the charging rate was increased from 45W to a staggering 120W. This is to ensure that, if you feel that the 45W charge is slow, then you would more likely be tempted to purchase the Pro Plus instead. Not only that, but the chipset is now a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, so for the modders out there and those who prefer the Snapdragon chipsets, this is for you.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus sports the same 200MP OIS camera (including the 8MP+2MP, and 20MP setup), the same display type, resolution, and brightness, the IP68 rating, and battery size. It does have a unique colour though, Frost Blue. The display here is also curved for that sweet immersion, but it must be hell for screen protector makers. Be careful not to drop it on the sides as well.

The two other colours are Midnight Black and Lavender Purple. Nothing changed here either.
