The Honor X8b Is a Direct Upgrade from the X8a, Including a Leather Back and MASSIVE STORAGE!

Honor released not one but TWO new phones today!

Two new Honor phones got released today. The first is the Magic V2, a foldable phone, and the other is the X8b, a midranger with a premium design. Before we continue, let us just say that the poster above reminds us a lot of how Nokia would make their poster for their phones. A strong coincidence maybe. It’s most likely due to the font.

The X8b is a direct upgrade from the X8a. Its got that pill-shaped camera cutout. Don’t be fooled though, there’s only one camera here but the good news is that the second hole is not just for decorations, this is where the flash is placed so you do get a physical flash instead of the phone tuning the brightness to max to make a pseudo-flashlight.

One thing you’ll notice is that its main colour, nicely named “Glamorous Green” comes with a leather back. Yes, we did get to hold one, it is real leather. Don’t put a case on it or the whole thing will be pointless.

The screen got an upgrade too. It’s now using a 3840Hz AMOLED screen so blacks will be black and colours are punchier. The phone does not seem to have fast refresh rates but that’s the price you pay if you want little to no flicker at this range.

Aside from that, the phone actually comes with a massive 512GB storage (massive for PHP 12,999 that is). It has 8GB RAM which supports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset inside. Oddly enough, we rarely see this chipset now. Everyone just gets crazy over the MediaTek Helio G99.

There are “three” cameras here. The first is a 108MP primary camera then the others? A 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. You judge these two for yourselves. The front features a 16MP selfie camera and a flashlight. It comes with the magic capsule software that displays notifications. Honor came up with the idea of this first but a certain fruit company made it more popular.

You’ll also find a 5000mAh Li-Po battery with 35W fast charging. The phone also has a headphone jack, a USB-C port, and dual SIM Card slot. The other two colours are Midnight Black and Titanium Silver, two of Honor’s signature colours. It is priced at PHP 12,999.

You can find the phone in your nearest Honor store, authorized third-party retailer, Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop. Conversely, you can find the phone at a grey market store but that would be pointless because the phone is available in the Philippines officially anyway and you don’t get the good stuff such as warranties and servicing.
