While we’re on the subject of honorable releases, here’s one to take that crown. Introducing the Infinix Zero 30 5G. A phone that feels like a sub-25K device at a sub-15K price. Mindblowing ain’t it? Not to mention… 4K@60fps on its 50MP selfie camera! Holy what? If that isn’t the standard we don’t know what is.

The phone boasts a metallic design and a waterfall OLED with 144Hz refresh rate. (Again, how much does this beast cost?) There is also a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset inside, or the Dimensity 1300 for the older folks and comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM. 21GB isn’t legit, part of that is actually extended RAM. It also has a 68W USB-C port which, at this price range, you can mostly only find up to 45W.

The cameras consist of a 108MP Primary Camera with OIS, a 13MP Ultrawide, and a 2MP depth sensor. It’s not the rear that’s actually surprised us (but the OIS definitely did) but rather the selfie camera. It uses a 50MP sensor with 4K@60fps capabilities! Some flagships don’t even have this feature.

The phone is all about the cameras and Infinix is encouraging its users to make some worthwhile stories with it. Though, some of our colleagues are skeptical of its 4K capabilities at the front and may just be an interpolated and an extended variant of 1080p. We would know, if we have the review unit.

If you visit the Infinix website, the phone’s entry is designed like a flagship. That’s because it is, despite its midrange specifications. It is treated as a flagship and we’re also seeing it like one. A “flagudget” as the company would like to call it.
