The ZTE Nubia Neo 5G is Available in the Philippines! A Gaming Phone for sub-PHP10K

That unique glass-like back and presence of Game Space makes this like a poor man’s RedMagic

ZTE has just entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility and they are approaching in like a storm. The company launched with a few phones in their portfolio such as the Blade V41 Vita and the ever-popular RedMagic series of gaming phones. Now, the company intends to compete with the budget gaming market with the new Nubia Neo 5G. It is a phone that looks unique compared to anything on the market, only the POVA series compare, and that’s probably why ZTE decided to release this here.

ZTE calls this futuristic design “Mecha Design” and sports geometric robotic-like elements protected with a thick layer of glasstic so sadly you can’t really touch each sharp-looking corner. It comes in War-damaged Yellow and Phantom Black.

The front features a 6.6″ 120Hz IPS LCD cut via a waterdrop notch when everyone else is sticking to a punch-hole at this point.

Its strong suit is the new UNISOC Tiger T820 chipset, a 6nm chipset with a performance comparable to the MediaTek Helio G99 and MediaTek Dimensity 810. We are yet to determine how strong is this chipset versus its contemporaries. Though, ZTE’s test said the chipset scored 422,384 points on AnTuTu v10 which is a great score for its class. In the Philippines, the phone comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM. The phone also has a heat dissipation system so that the phone remains cool while under heavy pressure. The phone also works with some RedMagic accessories, such as the GamePad, thanks to the inclusion of Game Space.

Cameras, on the other hand, are not its strong suit. At the back, you get a 50MP + 2MP setup as well as an 8MP selfie camera. Nothing special to see here.

It has a 4500mAh battery charged via a 22.5W USB-C port. In comparison, the Tecno POVA 5 uses a 45W charger.

It is priced at PHP 9,999 but currently sells for PHP 8,729 on TikTok. XUNDD Philippines as well as the ZTE Kiosk in SM City Grand Central also has the phone available for purchase.
