Oppo has a new budget phone again with a premium-like flair, the A58. Its main features are its punch-hole screen, 33W SuperVOOC fast charging, and a bright IPS LCD screen that is visible even when out in the sun. We’ll test those theories out once we have the unit.
As far as the spec sheet is concerned, the phone uses a 6.72″ FullHD+ (2400x1080px) IPS LCD screen with 60Hz refresh rate. However, the resolution is already a great improvement over the A57, and this time, it uses a punch hole instead of a waterdrop notch.
As a budget phone, it uses a 50MP Primary camera and a 2MP depth shooter. At the front is an 8MP selfie camera.
The phone uses a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. The RAM is expandable virtually by up to 8GB, making the phone technically have 14GB RAM in total. The storage is expandable too, using a MicroSD Card.
As mentioned, it has 33W fast charging that charges its 5000mAh battery inside. It also has dual speakers (this is either a physical thing or a virtual enhancement, we’ll see). The phone lacks 5G services altogether due to chipset limitations. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB-C port, and Wi-Fi 6/6e connectivity.
It is priced at PHP 9,999 and comes in Glowing Black and Dazzling Green. It is available online via Lazada, Shopee, or TikTok Shop, as well as third-party stores and Oppo’s own concept stores nationwide.
