The International Data Corporation (IDC) has published its quarterly smartphone shipments for the Philippine market. Just like the previous quarter, Transsion (Tecno, Infinix, Itel) remained in its top 1 spot, that’s the company’s second streak. Although, if BBK Electronics’ brands (Oppo, Vivo, Realme, OnePlus) are also combined, they definitely would push Transsion into the water.

According to IDC’s analysis, the overall YoY (year-on-year) market share actually declined by 2.1% because of economic uncertainties surrounding the country. However, they also noted that this decline is still a large improvement over the previous two quarters’ double-digit decline.

Their latest graph shows that Transsion has the largest slice of the pie at 38.3% followed by Realme at second, and Xiaomi at third. “Others” may include brands that are yet to be recognized by IDC, such as Honor, ZTE, and the local brand Cherry Mobile.

Transsion’s top brand is Tecno, growing a massive 145% QoQ and 237% YoY, and the brand’s best-selling unit is the Spark 10 series, sparking (no pun intended) stiff competition in the sub-10K segment.
