The ZTE Nubia Z50S Pro is Both a Camera and a Gaming Phone at the Same Time! It even comes with a 35mm Lens.

And they say you can’t have the best of both worlds.

It’s been nearly two months since ZTE released the Nubia Z50S Pro in their native country of China. The phone is a flagship phone with a very interesting set of features. As you can see, there is this large circular camera island that makes it look like a modernized point-and-shoot camera. This island houses the 35mm lens which is the default lens used on most DSLRs. Alongside that is a beautiful “Leica-ish” design that fits right in to both gamers and photographers. This back uses an AG Glass finish that mimics that of leather.

The display is a flat 1.5K (2800x1260px) 6.78″ 120Hz AMOLED and an impressively high 1000Hz touch sampling rate so the phone responds really fast, as if instantaneous. As a flagship phone, it uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset but this one is overclocked to 3.36GHz and is given the name “Advanced Edition”. According to the company, this chipset achieved 1,676,933 points on AnTuTu v10 which is whoppingly high and exceeds than those available in the market currently! There are three options to choose from here: 12/256, 12/1TB, and 16/1TB.

Now, going with the cameras, one of the phone’s most highlighted features. There is a triple camera system comprising of a 50MP Sony IMX800 Primary Camera with OIS and a 1/1.49″ sensor size, a 50MP Ultrawide with up to 2.5cm macro shooting support, and an 8MP Telephoto with OIS and 6x optical zoom. The 16MP selfie camera is also present.

In particular, the Primary camera has an impressive 5.21mm aperture at 35mm focal length which surpassed that of your usual 1-inch sensors from Xiaomi, Sharp, and Leica.

The phone comes in two primary colours: Black and Khaki. There is also a limited edition colour, roughly translated to “Mirror of Light” which modifies the camera island into a holographic ring. The colour here is “Carrara White”. This version of the phone is only available in a single 12/1TB option.

No word yet whether ZTE Philippines has plans to bring this phone here in the Philippines but you may find grey unit resellers listing it in Shopee or Lazada.
