OPPO Reno 10 Series with NO 2MP CAMERAS to Release on August 3.

This should be the thing from budget to flagship phones from now on.

Oppo announced today the upcoming Reno 10 series. Where’s the Reno 9 you may ask? Those are not significant enough because they are sidegrades to the Reno8 series. The Reno 10 series is more of a direct upgrade with a much more premium look, an all-new design, and most importantly, the omission of the useless 2MP depth and macro cameras!

OPPO RENO 10 and 10 PRO

The first two phones in the series, Reno 10 and Reno 10 Pro are almost identical in looks but the two are distinguishable through their spec sheets and colour options. The Ice Blue colour is unique to the base Reno 10 and this one has colour-changing effects. Meanwhile, both phones have the Silvery Grey variant.

Both of these phones are manufactured with aluminium as the primary material. The frames also appear to be made of aluminium, evident by its crystal clear shine. Meanwhile, the camera hump is pill-shaped. This houses the primary cameras, LED Flash, and the two secondary cameras. The selfie camera is situated at the center of the screen.

In terms of spec sheet, the Reno 10 and 10 Pro both use a 6.7″ FullHD+ (2412x1080px) curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The chipset is also different. The Reno 10 uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chip (or the Dimensity 1300 in other words) while the Reno 10 Pro uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. The Reno 10 comes in 8/128 or 8/256 configurations while the Reno 10 Pro uses a 12/256 configuration.

The Reno 10 has a slightly larger 5000mAh battery but also a slightly slower 65W SuperVOOC fast charging rate versus the Pro’s slightly smaller 4600mAh battery but slightly faster 80W SuperVOOC fast charging (same as the OnePlus Nord 3 we reviewed earlier). Both phones have 5G connectivity, an in-display fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC

Finally, the most important part, which we saved for last, is the cameras! The Reno 10 comes with a 64MP Primary camera, a 32MP telephoto, and an 8MP Ultrawide. The Pro has similar camera hardware but the primary sensor is upgraded to a 50MP camera with OIS. Most likely, the Sony IMX890. Both phones utilize a 32MP selfie camera and can shoot up to 4K@60fps videos.

It is arriving in the Philippines soon with an exciting launch event to complement them. We are looking forward to this and we’ll share the prices with you once these phones officially arrive on August 3

OPPO RENO 10 PRO PLUS:

Finally, we have the Reno 10 Pro+ which isn’t even a midrange phone at this point. It has everything the Pro has to offer and more. We say it’s a flagship because it is clearly designed to be one. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and Oppo’s MariSilicon NPU which to our surprise made it on the Reno series even though Oppo closed the factory that manufactures them. By the way, that NPU is the reason why the OPPO Find X6 Pro is one of the best camera phones DXOMark has ever tested.

The phone comes with the same 6.74″ 120Hz curved AMOLED as the first two but with a slightly sharper resolution of 2412x1240px. It’s still considered FullHD+ though.

The cameras here are even better. The 50MP Sony IMX890 and 8MP Ultrawide remained but now the telephoto is upgraded to a 64MP Omnivision OV64B Periscope with OIS. This, in combination with its MariSilicon X NPU makes the Reno 10 Pro+ feel like a cheaper alternative to the Find X6 Pro. The front camera is the same, a 32MP sensor situated centrally on the display.

The phone has the 5000mAh battery of the Reno 10 but also has a whoppingly fast 100W fast charging capability. It has stereo speakers, metallic frames, a USB-C port, an IR Blaster (rare for Oppo), and a Dual Nano-SIM Slot. It runs ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13.

We have the device in our possession and we couldn’t wait to tell you our first impressions! Stay tuned, that will come.

It is also available in Silvery Grey and Glossy Purple like the Reno 10 Pro.

All three phones would debut on August 3.
