The Power of Magic! HONOR Magic5 Pro is coming this June 8th in the Philippines!

Top-tier DSLR-like cameras in your pocket. Even the camera layout shows a trifecta!

While the HONOR Magic5 Pro has already been released globally, it will soon make its mark in the Philippines. By the way, HONOR Philippines is preparing so many exciting events this month, including the grand opening of the store in SM City Grand Central tomorrow!

That’s not the point of discussion though, it’s their newest flagship release, the Magic5 Pro. It is one of the best cameras you can use on any smartphone. That’s not our opinion, it’s DXOMark! Placing third in its flagship-tier cameras.

The phone comes with a perfect trifecta of cameras as well as a laser sensor to help in instantaneous focusing. There are also two front cameras and it features a perfectly curved AMOLED screen. We also like the matte finish at the back. It’s not a smudge magnet like glass nor is it slippery. It also makes the phone premium-looking.

The phone features a 6.81-inch. QHD+ OLED screen (2848x1312px) with 120Hz refresh rate. It has a very bright 1800nits display so you could use it even at midnight and you could still see very sharp and clear images. It’s also IP68-rated so swimming with it will not fry the circuits… for the first 30 minutes at least.

The phone used the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset based on a 2nd-gen 4nm TSMC process. Globally, it is available with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage.

Now the cameras are what we are here for and truly where the MAGIC happens. Here you could find the trifecta of 50MP cameras consisting of the main camera (f/1.6, OIS), ultrawide (f/2.0), and the periscope (f/3.0, 3.5x optical zoom, 100x digital zoom, OIS). At the front is your pill-shaped camera cutout consisting of a 12MP selfie camera and a 3D ToF assist to help in blurring and focusing. Both front and rear cameras can record up to 4K@30fps.

This trifecta design has a name by the way. It’s called “Eye of Muse” inspired by the first image of the black hole which was shot back in 2017. The flash underneath it is no ordinary flash. Besides the temperature sensor (the yellowish one) is the anti-flicker sensor which is very helpful when taking videos of screens. That black bar you see after taking a video is the banding, and this sensor helps reduce that.

Also, we’re looking at the same phone that helped record a Guinness World Record. Specifically, the world’s highest Between-the-legs slam dunk record. Quite a paid ad for sure but it counts.

Now, proceeding with the battery, it’s actually slightly larger than what most phones provide. The Magic5 Pro uses a 5100mAh battery with 66W Fast Charging. Of course, it can’t be a flagship without wireless charging, so the Magic5 Pro has 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging.

There are two colours here. Our favourite, Meadow Green, and Black. As mentioned in the title, the phone is confirmed to be available in the Philippines on 8th June with prices yet to be announced. We’re pretty excited to see this in action because the last time HONOR released a flagship, it was merely for show purposes. However, the Magic5 Pro is indeed intended for sale. Sadly though, the Magic5 and Magic5 Ultimate are yet to come to light in the country.
