This is the Oppo A78 5G, a budget 5G phone with an attractive, premium-like aura. At the heart of this phone is the 7nm Dimensity 700 with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Its RAM is expandable virtually for up to another 8GB. Also, it has a MicroSD Card slot so you could fit more videos, games, photos, and other memorable data.

It has a 6.56″ HD+ (1612x720px) IPS LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate (at least it has that going for it). This screen has a waterdrop cutout that houses the 8MP selfie camera. According to its Lazada listing, the phone is protected by one layer of Panda glass and a second layer of Caihong glass.

And speaking of cameras, what you’re seeing at the back is nothing too special. It is composed of a 50MP Primary camera and a depth sensor. The phone also has a 5000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.

Its ports include a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C port, and speakers that could be tuned virtually so it mimics stereo. It runs Android 13 with ColorOS on top. In terms of connectivity, you’re getting 5G services, a Dual-SIM slot, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6/6e, and Bluetooth 5.3 Low Energy. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is provided for biometrics as well as face unlock.

Choose from Glowing Purple or Glowing Black. These names are taken from Oppo’s new design language called “Oppo Glow”. Its price is PHP 14,999. A little pricey, don’t you think?
