Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro were also released alongside the Xiaomi 13 Ultra

Another highlight of Xiaomi’s massive event two days ago.

Aside from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the company also has revealed the new Pad 6 series. The Pad 5 series must have been a massive success, and you can tell, because we can recommend it to those who are looking for a practical performance tablet.

Their main improvements over their predecessors are their improved refresh rates, a much more updated design taken from the Xiaomi 13 series, and a fresh new display. Though none of these tablets carry AMOLED screens.

Both the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro carry an 11″ 2.8K (1880x2880px) IPS LCD screen with the Pad 5 possessing a 120Hz refresh rate that was retained from its predecessor while the Pro possesses an even faster 144Hz one. Both of these tablets are manufactured using an aluminium frame and back cover.

The chipset choices for these tablets aren’t entirely new because even the Pad 6 Pro gets last year’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset while the Pad 6 gets the ever-popular Snapdragon 870 which was retained again from its predecessor.

Cameras are usually not necessary on tablets but Xiaomi went the extra mile so the Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro gets a competitive set of cameras, similar to a midrange phone. The Pad 6 Pro has a whopping 50MP primary camera with a depth helper and the Pad 6 gets a 13MP sensor instead. Both of these tablets use an 8MP front camera with auto tracking so that video calls remain steady while you’re moving from one place to another.

There is also a quad-speaker system tuned by Dolby Atmos. These apparently dropped the JBL tuning that was present from the previous generation, for some reason. That tuning significantly improved sound quality and made it even more theatre-like.

These tablets have a conservative 8840mAh and 8600mAh batteries for the Pad 6 and the Pad 6 Pro respectively. The latter is charged via a 67W USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port while the former is charged through a 33W port.

Both of these tablets use a tablet version of MIUI called MIUI Pad 14 based on Android 13L. It also has support for stylus pens but this is sold separately. In addition, there’s a magnetic connector so you could attach a kickstand cover with keyboard to turn it into a smaller laptop. Of course, this is sold separately.

This 2nd-generation smart pen has lower input latency so it is more accurate than the previous generation and can respond to haptic feedback much more quickly. Wear resistance and battery life are also improved.

The tablets are available in Champagne Gold, Black, and Blue colour options. Prices are as follows:
