Let’s see how would Realme interpret the dynamic island notch which appeared first with the LG V10 and the Honor View20

A few weeks ago, Realme teased the C55 with their CEO taking a gander with it and calling its new dynamic island-like feature “Mini Capsule”. This concept is not new, nor was it invented by Apple (and frankly, we don’t recall Apple saying they invented it). This concept appeared first on the LG V10 and in more recent times, the Honor View20 with similar functions.

However, Apple once again, being the market leader they are, managed to popularize this concept and now manufacturers are copying it. Xiaomi with their 13 Lite and now Realme with an even more blatant lookalike.

The Realme looks very similar to the Realme 10 but it’s a little weaker. As mentioned in the title, it’s available first in Indonesia. We’re waiting when Realme would unveil in the Philippines.

The phone has a 6.72″ FullHD+ (2400x1080px) IPS LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate. As the name suggests, it has NFC. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88. You can’t have a phone that’s a direct clone of the Realme 10, that would definitely kill the sales.

It has a 5000mAh battery and 33W fast charging, a first for the C-series and the default charging speed moving forward. It has two cameras: a 64MP primary and a 2MP depth sensor. Also, the C55 has an 8MP camera situated in the middle as a dot notch. Another rare thing to see with the C-series budget phones.

Aside from the mini capsule pill, the phone is your usual budget phone. Also, this feature does not come with the phone initially so you have to wait for an update. It is priced at RP 2,499,000 (~Php 8.9K) for the 6/128 configuration. You could also go higher with 8/256, priced at RP 2,999,000 (~Php 10.7K). Colours include Sunshower, Rainy Night, or Rainforest.
