Itel has released the Vision 5, a budget phone with promised improvements to performance (including bigger memory) and a design that reminds us of the GT Neo 3. Might as well call it the poor man’s version. Itel calls this design “Star Ring”.
If you’re not aware of the company, Itel is the third of Transsion’s smartphone companies, the other two being Infinix and Tecno. Unlike the other two which focuses on a mainstream market, Itel’s market is more in-line with the ultra-budgeted users with phones priced not larger than Php 10K. The company also has a line of laptops called Spirit.
The successor to the Vision 3, which was noted for having a punch-hole despite its price, the Vision 5 is somewhat downgraded, as it now features the usual waterdrop notch. There’s no Pro version released either. Anyway, the screen is 6.6in. HD+ (1600x720px) IPS LCD.
The chipset is an unspecified octa-core chipset (although our colleagues from GizGuidePH told us it’s a UNISOC SC9863A) paired with 3 or 4GB RAM and either 32 or 64GB ROM. Both of these are expandable. You could have up to 7GB total via virtual RAM which works by ‘borrowing’ a part of the phone’s ROM. And speaking of internal storage, you could expand it through a MicroSD Card and that’s a requirement because even 64GB isn’t enough to suffice for a casual user.
There are “three” rear cameras. In quotes because the other two are just fillers. The rear camera has 8MP resolution coupled with some auxiliaries. The front is a 5MP shooter. Seen on the back is a fingerprint scanner too.
It has a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, a nifty feature, and a rare one to find for ultra-budgets. It charges via MicroUSB unfortunately but that’s to be expected in a phone priced like this. It runs Android 12 Go Edition with ItelOS 8.6 on top.
Now available in the Philippines for Php 3,599 for the 3/32 version. The higher-end 4/64 starts at Php 4,099. Colours include Mint Green, Digital Silver, and Midnight Black. Catch it on Lazada, TikTok Shop, and Shopee, as well as authorized Itel retailers near you.
