Infinix has updated the Note 12, as they should have done from the start

Because the vanilla Note 12 is literally just a renamed Note 11. No changes whatsoever.

We previously discussed the Infinix Note 12, a phone that is 100% identical to the Note 11 with no changes whatsoever. It seems like Infinix is far from finished with the Note 12 series, with the release of the Infinix Note 12 VIP.

With that said, the real Infinix Note 12 is now out, as the previous one with G88 is a phony impostor. This one comes with an updated design and a far more powerful Helio G96 chipset.

The base Infinix Note 12 is simply a slightly downgraded Note 12 VIP. Like it, it comes with a 6.7in. FHD+ (2400x1080px) although this phone ditches the high refresh rate, as that is reserved for VIPs only.

The cameras are unchanged from the G88 phone. It keeps the 50MP main camera but also shied away from telling us about the other two cameras. We can only guess it’s the 2mp duo (2mp depth/macro + AI lens). In front is a 16mp selfie camera sitting on a dewdrop notch.

The chipset is the same as the Infinix Note 12 VIP, the Helio G96, and is the main upgrade over the Infinix Note 12 G88. Even the official name of the phone includes the chipset’s name. It is paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM (+5GB Virtual RAM expansion) and 128GB UFS 2.2 internal storage expandable via MicroSD card. It boots with xOS 10.6 based on Android 12 out of the box.

It has a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. This was unchanged from the Infinix Note 12 G88. In terms of connectivity, there’s 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, Dual-band Wi-Fi, and dual nanoSIM slots. The phone has retained DTS Audio and the 3.5mm jack as well. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is available for use as an extra security measure.

It comes in Midnight Black and Aurora Blue colorways. In the US, it is priced at USD 200 (~Php 10.5K). We’ll keep in touch for any local release.
