Mediatek Dimensity 1300 is now OFFICIAL! It is an overclocked variant of the Dimensity 1200

May be coming first on the OnePlus Nord 3.

Mediatek is on a quest to remain the top mobile chipset manufacturer by releasing affordable chipsets with unbelievable performance. The Mediatek Dimensity 1300 is quite promising on that notion and it will compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G as well as newer Snapdragon 700 or 7-series chips

According to rumors, the chipset will arrive first on the OnePlus Nord 3 so if that device comes out, we’ll see how it performs both on benchmarks and in reality. As you may have guessed, it is the successor to the popular and customizable Dimensity 1200. We expect that this new chipset will also have that same level of customizability.

The chipset is built upon a 6nm TSMC process thankfully. It is an octa-core chipset that consists of four Cortex-A78 cores (one Ultra chip running up to 3GHz and three Super chips clocked up to 2.6GHz) and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It uses a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, similar to the Dimensity 1200. The main difference between this and the Dimensity 1200 is the clock speed. It is essentially an overclocked Dimensity 1200 so it didn’t get much noise as we would have hoped.

Because of that, it has similar specs as the Dimensity 1200, including up to 200MP camera support and UFS 3.1 storage support. You can also have a phone of up to 16GB LPDDR4X RAM at 4,266Mbps. It supports high refresh rates as well.

Mediatek did not share any device that will launch with it but as we said, the OnePlus Nord 3 is expected to be one of the first if not the first.
