The Oppo Reno 8 is apparently a watered-down OnePlus 10 Pro, according to a leak

This came from the reliable Digital Chat Station. This may be a sign that OnePlus truly settled. Thanks, BBK!

Everyday, a new tech leak comes. That is when we anticipate what could possibly happen next. Remember when OnePlus merged with Oppo? It seems like the effects are starting to take off. A render by Digital Chat Station has shown what could the next Reno phone, the Reno 8, might look like. (Just so you know, the Reno 7 series was only recently released, and it’s not even half-a-year old).

Right: Oppo Reno 8 render. Left: OnePlus 10 Pro

The render bears a striking resemblance to the OnePlus 10 Pro, except it has no Hasselblad markings and is slightly smaller, at 6.5in. The display is OLED and will have a 120Hz refresh rate, an upgrade over the 7’s 90Hz.

The camera used for the Reno 8 is the flagship-level 50mp Sony IMX766. The same one used for the Reno 7 Pro. That phone used a custom Mediatek Dimensity 1200 chip that satisfies Oppo’s needs. There aren’t any details yet what chipset it will use, the battery life, or other features, so we’ll keep you posted.

In the meantime, the effects of the merge are now felt. After all, OnePlus is and always will be, a BBK subsidiary.
