Vivo X Fold, Vivo X Note, and Vivo Pad have been showcased. Availability in China starts on 11th April!

A set of flagships and concept innovations from Vivo. They’ve gone a long way.

Vivo has teased three new devices that are in the flagship level. This includes their first foldable phone and their first tablet. There’s also the Vivo X Note which is a flagship and is the spiritual successor of the Vivo Nex series.

Let’s start first with the Vivo X Fold.

Vivo X Fold

This is Vivo’s belated answer and rival to the Samsung Galaxy Fold series as well as other foldable phones available like the Xiaomi Mix Fold and Huawei Mate X. The phone folds in landscape orientation. When folded, the tablet/phone hybrid measures 8 inches. The display is AMOLED and has a 120Hz refresh rate. Also, Vivo claims it has used UTG glass for the panel. It is also 3C certified. Not much else has been revealed.

Some teasers also reveal that the phone uses a vegan leather back and uses a quad-camera setup with Zeiss optics. Since the Vivo X60 series, the company has struck a deal with Zeiss so they will manufacture the lenses while Vivo takes care of the software. If you can recall, Nokia used to hold a partnership with Zeiss but due to Vivo’s partnership, the deal might have expired for Nokia.

The foldable is also revealed to use 80W worth of fast charging and is powered by a 4600mAh battery. The phone is 3C certified.

We’ll update you if Vivo reveals even more specs. Here’s one thing we can say though, Vivo’s current flagships indeed excite us. It’s been a while since a company has made us look forward to an upcoming release, especially it’s a flagship.

Vivo X Note

Render of the Vivo X Note

A non-foldable version of the X Fold and is implied to be the successor for the X70 series. We don’t know the reason why the company didn’t call it the X80 but that might be another phone that’s not actually the X Note. In short, it might be a separate release.

Anyway, the rumor mill says the phone will stand at a tall 7in. 2K E5 OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, hence the “Note” suffix. As a flagship, it will obviously be using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor paired with up to 12GB RAM and possibly up to 512GB internal storage. There’s a rumoured 5000mAh battery inside and just like the Fold, it will also have 80W fast wired charging. It will also come with 50W wireless charging

Vivo Pad

Finally, the last device teased by Vivo, the Vivo Pad. It is also their first tablet and is probably made because Oppo has one, so does Realme. Because Vivo has revealed their tablet, only OnePlus is left of the four major BBK brands to not have a tablet. OnePlus did state they have plans to manufacture one though.

As seen through the render above, the tablet will have Dolby Audio, a dual-camera setup with LED flash, quad speakers, based on what appears on the render image, and a metallic design.

Another teaser shows the tablet having stylus support. Recent leaks told us that the display will feature a 120Hz IPS LCD screen and uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip, like many other performance tablets. This chip seems to be optimized for use already on tablets, hence the reason why manufacturers use it quite often.

It will pack a 7860mAh battery with 44W fast charging. Not the fastest charging speed for a tablet but it will do. Like other tablets released, the Vivo Pad will support an attachable magnetic keyboard with a trackpad making it a mini laptop of sorts, or simply, a powerful netbook. It will launch with OriginOS Ocean that is optimized for tablets.

As mentioned earlier, all three of these devices will launch on April 11 in China. We don’t know yet if Vivo has plans to release all or some of them internationally.
