Infinix launches its first-ever 5G phone, the Zero 5G

With a camera lump similar to the Find X3 Pro.

If you have been following Transsion for a while, one thing you’ll notice is that they have never made a 5G phone, that or most of their current releases all have something to do with Mediatek. We aren’t sure if this is an exclusive partnership or what, but they made Qualcomm phones before. Probably chipset shortage.

Anywho, that’s not what we’re going to discuss. We’re here to simply announce to you that Infinix has finally released their first 5G phone. And it’s not just any 5G phone just so you could call it “5G”, they actually went up the extra mile and chose the Mediatek Dimensity 900 5G chip instead of the Dimensity 700.

Now that Infinix has created their very own Find X3 Pro and their first 5G, we’re expecting that their sibling Tecno, would also follow-up.

According to its website, the Zero 5G has a 6.78in. FHD+ IPS LTPS screen with 120Hz refresh rate. As mentioned earlier, the phone uses a Mediatek Dimensity 900 chip, a 6nm 5G chip designed with the balance of power efficiency and performance in mind. At the back is a triple camera system consisting of a single 48mp main camera, a 13mp telephoto with 2x zoom and 30x digital zoom, and finally, a 2mp auxiliary that’s of no use whatsoever. In front is the typical 16mp selfie camera on a dot notch.

In terms of battery, there’s a 5000mAh battery inside coupled with 33W fast charging. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that also works as a power button. It has 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage both of which are unusual for a midrange phone. Another good thing about this is that the phone retained the headphone jack and as we noticed, Transsion never removed it, which is a huge plus on their end.
