ICYMI: Razer had launched a development kit with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x chip!

We wonder if this would make gaming phones a little redundant

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x is part of the company’s restructuring as well as its mark on the gaming handheld market. They had high confidence with their previous flagship chip, the Snapdragon 888 5G as it can run most highly-demanding games on mobile smoothly (with some minor exceptions like Genshin Impact on 60fps) so with this in mind as well as the existence of gaming phones, Qualcomm entered the gaming handheld market. The first company to try out their new processor designed for gaming handhelds is Razer, best known for their gaming accessories and the Razer Phone 1 and 2. They’re also the ones who first conceptualized the idea of a gaming smartphone.

The new Snapdragon G3X chip has 5G capability, the power to use external displays, very responsive haptic feedback, immersive sound, and most importantly, enhanced and powerful performance perfect for gaming.

Razer had started developing their own development kit specifically for this new chipset. This development kit can help developers make games or make their previously developed ones compatible with the processor as well as adjust to handhelds. This development kit takes advantage of Qualcomm’s Gaming Elite technology and can also help CCs stream their favourite games and play games stored on the cloud.

So in short, Razer might be developing a handheld console using the new Snapdragon G3x processor!
