The Mediatek Dimensity 2000 has reached an enormous AnTuTu score of 1 million, but this feels suspicious.

We hope Mediatek isn’t cheating again.

It’s been a few months since the Mediatek Dimensity 2000 was announced. This chipset is meant for flagships and would compete against the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898, among others.

However, no matter how good Mediatek makes its chipsets, it usually falls in second place from its Qualcomm rival. When the Dimensity chips arrived, it changed the game, especially in the midrange and budget 5G segment. Today, Mediatek stands as the largest manufacturer of smartphone chipsets globally.

The Mediatek Dimensity 2000 showed up in AnTuTu, having reached a whopping score of 1,002,220. Most flagships chipsets today can barely reach 900K, even the highest-rated phone on AnTuTu, the Black Shark 4 Pro has a score of 875,902 points. According to Digital Chat Station, this new record was first set on an unknown Vivo phone, indicating that whatever this device is, could be the first to use this particular chip

However, hold your excitement as even AnTuTu said these numbers are “abnormal” and Mediatek has had a history of benchmark cheating over the past few years. Digital Chat Station said though that these warnings are “normal” whenever a newly-run chipset has passed certain records, especially on test units.

If what the tipster said was true, then it is entirely possible that the newer SD898 chip can also reach these 7 figures, along with its rival the Samsung Exynos 2200. Possibly even defeating the Dimensity 2000.
