The Xiaomi Vivo CIVI X60 Pro is now available in China!

A selfie/vlogging-centric phone with a pretty feminine design.

Xiaomi just unveiled the long lost relative of the Vivo X60 Pro, the Xiaomi CIVI, in China. The phone is a selfie/camera-centric device, with a number of AI algorithms made specifically for the front camera.

The company also revealed that the CIVI is a replacement for the CC series, hence the familiar structure (e.g. selfie-centric, vlogging-focused, feminine/light gradient design etc.). Sadly though, with Xiaomi being out of the Android One program, this won’t be the Mi A4, unlike the CC9, which was launched as the Mi A3 worldwide with Stock Android to boot and fresh updates, up to 2 major Android versions.

Let’s start with specs. First, the device uses a 6.55in. curved AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, typical to many luxury midrangers on the market. Unlike the Mi CC9 Pro, the CIVI isn’t over-the-top when it comes to its camera system. The phone uses a 64mp camera instead of the 108mp camera seen on the Mi CC9 Pro. In addition to its 64mp camera, there is also a gimmicky 2mp macro along with an 8mp ultrawide sensor.

For the selfie camera, which this phone is highly focused with, is a 32mp snapper with autofocus available. The “beautification” mode seen on leaks is also available here. For the processing part, the phone uses the SD778G, also typical for higher-end midrangers like the Realme GT ME and the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G.

For the battery, it has a typically large 4500mAh battery complemented by 55W fast charging. Seen on the posters above, it appears that the phone lacks a headphone jack, but does have Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning and Hi-Res Audio certification.

The phone is also light. Weighing only 166g. Xiaomi is also pretty proud of their totally original design. It comes in three colours: black, pink (or Rose Gold if you’re old-fashioned wink wink) and the blue gradient, all with a matte finish and glass back. It ships with MIUI 12.5 out of the box, based on Android 11.

PRICES:

  • 8/128: CNY 2600 (~Php 20.6K)
  • 8/256: CNY 2900 (~Php 22.9K)
  • 12/256: CNY 3200 (~Php 25.3K)

The Xiaomi CIVI will be available across partner retailers and Xiaomi’s official stores in China starting 30th September. As always, we’re always waiting for an international release. The Realme GT ME needs more competition.
