Numbers game, numbers game
Earlier this month, two Motorola phones have been certified by TENAA, these are the XT2143-1 and XT2153-1 model numbers respectively. It has been recently confirmed that these two phones are the two Motorola Edge 20 series from Lenovo.
The Motorola Edge series would make its debut in China on 5th August, 7:30pm China Standard Time. Which means, the launch would also happen at the same time in the Philippines.
According to a reliable leaker on Twitter named Evan Blass, the phones would be equipped with a 108mp camera. This has been confirmed thanks to a teaser poster above showing the 108mp camera setup
Both phones are expected to have a 6.67in. OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Edge 20 is also expected to come with a 32mp selfie camera snapper.
Their main difference lies in the processor. If you may have recalled, the Motorola Edge S used a Snapdragon 870 processor. The Edge 20 Pro might also come with this same chipset while the vanilla variant is coming with a Snapdragon 778G processor, which means both are 5G-enabled.
The Edge 20 series features practically useful cameras. These include the ultra high-res 108mp camera, an 8mp telephoto with 5x optical zoom and a 16mp ultrawide camera. The Edge 20 Pro may come with only 3x optical zoom. A weird choice and theoretically, feels like a downgrade.
There are also reports stating that neither phone would come with a 3.5mm port and that it comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which doubles as a power button (though an in-display fingerprint is also expected). Additionally, a 4000mAh battery will be powering the phones. There are no reports yet of fast charging, but given the specs, there should be one.
