An upgrade over the Dimensity 1200
A few days ago, An Honor tablet named V7 Pro surfaced online, one of the specs teased is a “Mediatek Dimensity 1300T” processor, which could be the newest chipset from Mediatek. This tablet should join the Magic 3 series of gaming phones this coming 12th August
There are now more info about this new chipset. According to reliable leaker, Digital Chat Station, this chipset will be manufactured by TSMC and like the Dimensity 1200, it will be built on a 6nm node process. The chipset also has a familiar architecture.
For one, the chipset will be using ARM Cortex-A78 CPUs, though there is no information yet about core count, but we can say it should be octa-core. There would also be a nonacore GPU coming with the Dimensity 1300T. Since this chipset is a marginal upgrade over the Dimensity 1200, the GPU would more likely be the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. There’s also a 6-core APU on board, which means 30% better CPU, 40% better GPU and a whopping 82% improved AI performance, in comparison to the Snapdragon 865
There are reports stating that this chipset would be exclusive to Honor temporarily. However soon, other brands will be able to use it for their own smartphones. The chipset would be unveiled tomorrow, 26th July.
