Globe and Converge claim the top spot in Netflix’s Internet Speed Index


Converge and Globe claim the top spot as the fastest and top-performing telcos according to a report released by Netflix.

In case you didn’t know, Fast.com is an internet-testing service similar to Ookla’s speedtest.net that is owned by Netflix. In a statement, Globe said this is the third time it reached this achievement.

“This result underscores our promise to continuously delight our customers by providing them with affordable internet plans, as well as relevant content packages like Netflix. These are just a few of our many innovations that are redefining our customers’ experience and empowering their lifestyles with choice as we embark towards better days ahead, said Darius Delgado, Globe VP and Head of Broadband Business”

In addition, Globe has reached its targeted network site builds as of late March this year, with 318 cell sites and 287,000 high-speed broadband installations nationwide. Their revenue also rose to a whopping 27%, earning as much as PHP 7.4 Billion as its number of subscribers grew every year.

Converge has not commented about this achievement yet.
