Tecno POVA Curve 2 5G to Launch in the Philippines May 23

Tecno Philippines teased on its social media pages that it will launch the Tecno POVA Curve 2 5G. A sequel to a phone that was also successful. If it wasn’t, they won’t bother with a follow-up now, will they? The phone will be available on May 23 and is complemented by a livestream on Facebook. All we are waiting for now is its price.

Actually, scratch that. The company has already revealed the phone’s price. it starts at PHP 16,999 (8/256, with 8GB virtual RAM included). As you can see, Tecno is aiming for a futuristic gaming-like design that matches the design aesthetics of the POVA series, which the company calls “Spaceship design”. Signature of the series, the Tecno POVA Curve 2 5G comes with a huge battery, with 8000mAh juice to last the day.

Upon pre-ordering, customers can get a free Tecno gift alongside a Globe SIM Card (the phone itself is not SIM Locked if purchased directly from Tecno). The Tecno POVA Curve 2 5G comes in Storm Titanium, Mystic Purple, and Melting Silver color options.

The phone boasts a curved AMOLED display, hence the name, with 144Hz refresh rate, as well as a handy weight of just 195g and thickness of just 7.42mm.

Among other features, the phone comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset alongside 45W fast charging, an IP64 water/dust certification, and as mentioned earlier, 8000mAh battery. The phone also notably features a 50MP primary camera alongside a 2MP camera for aesthetic reasons, and a 13MP selfie camera.

Tecno also included a dedicated signal booster chip. This means you can play smoothly and without interruptions even in areas with weaker signals. In addition, Tecno’s handy FreeLink 2.0 feature allows you to use Bluetooth to receive calls within a 1.5km range. It’s short-ranged but quite useful in emergency situations.
