TWIN TURBO TWIN TURBO TWIN TURBO
The Redmi Turbo series is all about performance, split from the Xiaomi T series which is mostly about imaging and the Redmi Note series which is an all-rounder. When these phones go outside of China, they are typically rebranded as POCO phones as POCO is Xiaomi’s performance brand worldwide.
The Redmi Turbo 5 is confirmed to launch on January 29, with little design changes from its predecessor, the Redmi Turbo 4. It still rocks the classic dual camera island (without extra gimmicks), a clean back, and a punch hole. What matters really, is the inside.
Two phones are anticipated. The Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max. In addition, a tablet themed after Harry Potter, as part of the brand’s continued partnership with the hit fantasy series, will be announced on the same day.
No specs have been confirmed yet, but the rumor mill suggests of a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 16MP selfie camera. This setup is nothing out of the ordinary in terms of flagship killer phones. Speaking of flagship killer, the POCO X8 Pro is in the works, and that’s what might the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is going to be when it sets off outside China.
The Turbo 5 series will feature a fibreglass back. metallic frame, a flat display, and dual LED flash. Just seeing the image above, it feels like they’re mimicking the iPhone, the way it is presented.
While chipsets have not been confirmed yet, the Turbo 5 Max is set to launch with the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500 and pack a massive 9000mAh battery. As you can tell, extra large batteries are making a comeback but now they fit into a slim frame. You have Silicon-Carbon to thank for this magic.
