More Powerful, More Pro! The Redmi Note 15 Pro Series is in the Philippines

Or perhaps, you can get a better deal by getting their POCO Variants?

Aside from the Redmi Note 15 and its 5G brethren, the Redmi Note 15 Pro series was launched alongside, completing the series. In terms of appearance, all five phones have little to differ. Some may have exclusive colors or small tweaks but it’s only when you pop open that back cover (with some special tools) you can truly see the difference. However, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ appears to be entering the Mi T-series territory, which it shouldn’t so the latter cannot cannibalize its sales, and we’ll get to it deeper to this article.

If the Series Sounds Confusing… Don’t Worry, it’s Tradition

Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G:

Xiaomi has a tendency to repeat the same smartphone over and over again, just with slight tweaks and with ever confusing names. Well, you’re most likely not in for the name but rather the phone’s contents. And yes, Xiaomi isn’t giving up that 4G customer base yet, because 5G is still tad expensive for some consumers. So, to get the “Pro” experience to those who are tight, Xiaomi is kind enough to slightly upgrade the Redmi Note 15 4G.

Its most notable upgrades lie on the cameras, battery, and charging rate. From an older 108MP sensor, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G switches to a newer 200MP one. You can differentiate the Redmi Note 15 4G from the Pro version by their colors, assuming that the Redmi Note 15 4G user has a purple one and the Pro user has Titanium.

The chipset is a sidegrade. The MediaTek Helio G200-Ultra, as powerful as it sounds, is a rehashed G100-Ultra which in turn, is a rehashed Helio G99. The Redmi Note 15 Pro comes in 8/256, 12/256, or 12/512 options.

Another way to differentiate the two is that the Redmi Note 15 4G from the Pro is that the former has no secondary camera while the Pro has an 8MP ultrawide. The depth sensor does not count. Also, the front camera resolution is better for the Pro as it uses a 32MP sensor.

In terms of battery life, the Redmi Note 15 Pro has a slightly larger 6500mAh battery with 45W fast charging, which is only slightly off from the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G. The Redmi Note 15, on the other hand, has 6000mAh + 33W fast charging.

Among other things, the phone remains the same. It has a 6.77″ FHD+ AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, an IR blaster, Stereo Speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, and USB-C charging.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G starts at PHP 11,699 (8/256). It can go as high as PHP 14,399 (12/512). The phone is exclusive on Shopee but you may find authorized retailers selling it. The phone has three colors. Black, Titanium, and Glacier Blue.

Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G

The next phone in the Pro series is the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G. This time around, the Pro isn’t just a phone intricately slapped with a low-end 5G chipset, it actually means business for midrangers. Best of all, it has a pretty decent price.

Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra and large 6580mAh battery with 45W fast charging which thankfully comes included with your purchase. Protecting it are a few things. The shock absorber, an IP66/68/69/69K rating (yes, those numbers mean a lot of things, and they protect only certain parts of the phone hence why there are several IP ratings), and a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 tempered glass, which is usually only found on flagships.

There are two cameras, both functional, and the other hole is well… just a hole really. It adds to the aesthetic. The main camera is a 200MP sensor and the other is an 8MP ultrawide. Hey, no useless 2MP this time. The display houses a 20MP selfie camera.

Finally, the phone has dual speakers, both Hi-Res, and features a 6.83″ 1.5K AMOLED display. There are three colors, as with its other siblings. These are Black, Titanium, and Mist Purple, its unique offering.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G starts at PHP 17,999 (12/256) and the other is PHP 19,999 (12/512).

REDMI NOTE 15 PRO PLUS 5G:

Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G, showing its longevity

The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G is the epitome of the series, but also comes with a baffling price tag, rivaling the more powerful Xiaomi 15T. The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G comes in a unique leather brown back, almost coffee-like, called Mocha Brown. The phone has three cameras unlike its less powerful siblings, which only have two.

The display remains the same as the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, featuring a 1.5K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 12-bit color, and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G serves as an intermediary between the Xiaomi 15T and the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G. The only thing missing here is the Leica lens and a stronger chipset.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, which you could say is only very slightly weaker than the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra but also longer lasting, thanks to it focusing more on power efficiency than raw performance.

The cameras remain largely the same, apart from the front camera. To reiterate, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G uses a 200MP primary camera alongside an 8MP ultrawide, which is also used here. The front camera has 32MP resolution instead of the usual 20MP.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus features a 6500mAh battery with 100W fast charging. The capacity is almost the same as its siblings (this is an estimated capacity listed in most phone brands as typ or typical size). The difference lies in the charging rate, which is 100W

As with other Redmi Notes, the phone has an IR Blaster. It also has an in-display fingerprint scanner and 5G services, of course.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus starts at a staggering PHP 28,999 (12/512) which is absurd because the Xiaomi 15T is of the same price. That phone may cannibalize the sales of the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus. The Xiaomi 15T not only has a stronger flagship chipset, a MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra, but also Leica lenses and a better set of cameras.
